Worker's revolt was a knock-down-drag-out (3-3)

DRAG-OUT minus Down; Chambers does not have D=down but other lists do. Not a winning clue anyway, but I was struck by how this common phrase worked cryptically. (At least I'm assuming it's common.)

I've just noticed that Chambers has this under 'rag'
To dress (with out or up ; old US sl)

re #21. Oh .. It's probably a tailless agouti. I looked at photos of them and couldn't see stripes, but Chambers says they do have them ...

It’s odd because, as you say, the animals don’t seem to be striped at all, based on pictures online.
