Thanks Yevrah for the hint on 27, I thought it was going to be my LOI, only to discover I'd got 21 wrong.

I liked 27, and the word play in 14, but actually my COD is 4. I thought this clue beat by a head the normal way this type of clue is indicated.

Fairly straightforward although had to come here for parsing of 3 and 20.

Not sure about the parsing of 22, I wouldn't say the first 4 letters means "dance"?

My clue of the day was 14.

That made sense to me; it was the first half that jarred.

Ah, a gentler affair this morning than yesterday’s marathon which I did not finish until well into the evening (v satisfying though). My FOI 11 and LOI 20… and agree that 27 and 4 are both contenders for COD. Off to help my aging Mum plant some things in her garden in the Spring sunshine now…

PS I think it means dance as in ‘xxxx the light fantastic’.

Excellent Everyman today I thought, and no help needed apart from checking the spelling of 26a. Thanks for the parsing of 3 and 13, which had eluded me as well. FOI 1a. Favourites were 14d and 20a. Also thought that 27, and 21d (my LOI) were great clues.

Nice undemanding (mostly) puzzle today. Thanks for parsing 13. Loved 14! Happy spring.
