COD and LOI 24a liked that one!

Very straightforward but enjoyable today. Left Paddington at 4.03pm and all done within an hour. FOI 1a. COD 24a.

Thanks Everyman for using up the first half of my journey.

Even without pronouncing the final ‘s’, the homophone at 17a is dubious to say the least.

I don't get the homophone in 17a at all! I presume it's meant to sound like a word for 'enticing' but I just can't see it.

About 3/4 of this crossword went in really easily, then I got completely stuck. Managed to solve 24 and 9a, thanks to hints on here, but now I can't do my last two - 11a and 12d. I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious, so hints would be welcome.

17a the homophone is of a word for “was enticing” so past tense
12d is hidden (rarely over four words in the clue)
11a is literally someone who might toss and turn, not particularly cryptic

Couple of days late sorry. Only just got to this one. Re Brendan at 1 and Paullnz at 6 I think the parsing of 15a is a 3 letter French word for island as in French Man (where the Man is the island) inside the obvious 1, 3 for Everyman's beginning and bothered.

Isn't it just Everyman's beginning + 1 letter French man (Monsieur) + 5 letter bothered?

Interesting. I parsed it as in post 37, but steviec2@36's solution also works and is more clever IMO.

Thanks Jono, and apologies for the late response - I got distracted and have only just come back to the crossword.

17a - Well, I think the homophone is pretty poor! Though it would have worked better if the clue had read: 'Pilgrimage venue enticed', which would still have worked as a surface, I feel, and would have made a lot more sense.

12d - I would never have worked out that it was a hidden! Very clever.

11a - got it as soon as I read your hint - I'm really rubbish at spoonerisms!
