THE CLUES
Requests for help should normally include the clue itself, the number of letters in the answer, and details of any you already have. Any special instructions or additional information should be included.
NB - Hints only should be given, no answers please.

THE THEME
Requests may be made here for GENTLE NUDGES only towards the theme. GENTLE is tough to define - enough to help, not enough to give away too much! Please do not reveal the theme under any circumstances.

Early finishers should avoid any allusion - whether jocular or otherwise - to the theme.

The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated with respect. When helping, please do not give away any more than is necessary

PS - I'm posting this week as Malone is chairing the International Symposium for Pedants held on the top of Ben Nevis😂

Thanks for that Puffin. Most enjoyable and not at all frightening.

Thank you, Puffin. Great fun and not too taxing.

Forgive an entirely personal and non-cruciverbal digression - but what an apt time for you to appear! Mrs Aubrey and I look out f'ae hame to the Isle of May, whence your kith and kin are currently returning; and we are both volunteers with the teams who go out to the inner islands of the Firth of Forth to battle the tree mallow that threatens the burrows and the breeding of your kind.

Thanks to puffin for a good puzzle.

Pondering over a couple of things - the title, and also 14

Exult about acquiring right fabric made from uncoated thread.

While its arguably too early to ask for parsing help, pls can someone confirm that there isnt a mistake in the clue

I didn’t find a mistake in 14. It’s an across clue and the preamble has something to say about across clues.

I am treading a fine line, here; particularly so early in a Listener thread! But it may be worth considering whether indications are not necessarily always directional.
