Wondering if it's an anagram of CLUES IN, but not sure what the letter could be. I'm sure I will kick myself when I get it!

Parses as 4, 2, 3. The 2 is rather explicitly stated in the clue.

Very enjoyable puzzle today I thought. CODs were 1 and 24, both brilliant IMO!

Nice one today I thought, just a good level of difficulty with a few write-ins and a few stretchers. As Brendan said, not many really stand out but I liked the misdirection in 8d and the double meaning in 15a
