I'm just beginning this so no doubt which superfluous letter to pick will become clear, but in 24d aren't there 2 synonyms for "observes" that both lead to the exact same answer but with different extra letters?

You're right, though I didn't notice when solving. There are a couple of other clues with more than one possibility for the extra letter as well.

Thanks to Pasquale, that was good fun, especially as I'm currently watching a related Netflix series:-)

Add me to the list of those that initially put an S for 16d and, as there were 3 options for the extra letter in 15d, it took a while to untangle - as did the parsing of 28a so thanks to Loge for that.

I had the same difficulties with11 and 15, so thanks to Loge for the clarification. Had a smile at 25a.
Is there anything else to note in the completed/deleted grid? I'm not very good at spotting endgames, so wondering if I've missed something.

Enjoyed this without the torture of last month trying to check the pairing up. But why can't I parse 6d? Only one answer possible from the definition and all the crosses but can't see the construction ...

6d. is 'where the unpleasant figures could come from', as pronounced by a Cockney, minus the extra letter ... in a word for 'one' + the 'Bard'

Do we enter the full answers for the clues or what's left after removals?
