Sorry to disagree, but I thought this was awful. Yes, there's a "theme", but it's very loose, and there are a tremendous number of possibilities to choose from. If he had limited it to only one work it would have been more satisfactory. One of the thematics is extremely obscure as such, and possibly not even valid. There seems to be a mistake in the clue for 2d.

Hi Chris, what's the mistake in 2d? It looks okay to me (presuming it parses 2, 5)

"share" should be 6 letters, not 5

I see what you mean, Chris,

Chambers thesaurus gives "share" as the ?????N but it also gives "proportion" as a synonym for both ????? and ?????N.

I think you could loosely say that the 5 in 2d is a valid noun. But like Chris I don't think this will go down as one of my favourites.

I agree with you Chrise. I usually relish a good Paul prize, but the theme ruins this for me - happy to admit to being a philistine on the subject, and can't be bothered to use Google to trawl through possible answers. Probably the first Prize in years that I won't bother finishing. Oh well, I appreciate that setters can't please every all the time! Roll on next week.

Hello again :-)
Initially found this one quite simple
FOI 9d
Can't parse the 1st three letters of 21d though.
However, now stumped in NW corner.
Time for a coffee methinks.

Hi Pauly,

21d - 4 letter "rage" around/biting 3 initial letters but it's all reversed/rolling over.
