Thank you drxx. I had the wrong connection between the fist two in the incomplete set.
Now all is clear.

Obviously, I meant FIRST.

3d - I'm not one to make "boastful claims" (what am I talking about - I'm exactly that sort!) but I've played on stage with Mr ????? many years ago😃

Can I just check the number of names given by the extra letters. I can see the first two beginning S and R, and the last one beginning W but can't seem to find anyone from the T - N letters - Is there 4 names or 5?

I see where I went wrong, I had A instead of I for 8d as Chambers gives both.

So did I, Brendan, for a while, and the wrong mammal too!

I’m way behind guys. Can you help me parse 7d and 12a. I don’t know what the full words are for either although I have all the letters filled in in the grid.
