I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a different, more obvious meaning. I know "steps" can infer a 'process' or 'course of action' but my lack of clarity concerned the rather brief wording, "steps getting on", but as long as I know I'm not missing anything, I'm fine with it.

I should have put a paragraph break in my last post. Just for clarity, the PDM (or “lawn moment”) was understanding the hint, not the parsing of 34a.

Very late to the party this week but I agree with all the positive comments.

I am very late to the party as CANNOT parse 34a. I still have stops on as changed old to ode in previous clue to obtain the needed e. LOVED the pennydrop moment and a brilliant puzzle but have bored a hole in the paper trying to solve 34a.......HELP!

Oops. So the L I got from changing focus to locus was also wrong and we really do have steps in instead of stops in for 34a...... Still can't solve it and not used to being beaten! Help appreciated. Connie
