Where is everyone when you need them! I've got most of the grid filled
- with some difficulty - and I've got the message from the misprints but I can't see how to apply it. Nudges welcome.
Also the first letter of 6d doesn't make sense. The one I've got gives the opposite of what of what the wordplay seems to require.

Follow the instruction making a sentence of 6 elements.

The first letter of 6d has been thematically adjusted if you've entered 1a first (6d clue answer starts with a different letter)..

...and you'd better go back to 2d/10a at some point - that's a trap for the unwary.

Fine puzzle and the trickiest of the weekend for me. Huge thanks to Jaques.

I know that the final letter of the second word of advice has to come from 34 across, but I just don't see it. Despite having uncovered the device for the "disguise" I can't work it out from the message.

And finally, I almost disguised 21 down incorrectly since one of the unchecked letters gives two possibilities for a real word, but only one for the disguise to be complete.

As ever, spotted after posting. The puzzle just got even better😊

34a - I'm still not sure what letter changes. I have the answer and know the correct letter but the only word that seems able to change is 'stops' into 'steps' but how does that add to the definition - or is the misprint in a different word?
