Gentle hints to clues and VERY gentle hints to the theme may also feature. Anything stronger should go on the Extra Help Thread.

Postings here should be in response to requests, unsolicited hints, nudges etc will be removed.

A welcome relief after 3 very tough Listener weeks for me. 45 minute gridfill. Have the message but no joy with Googling it so far. Hopefully it's not an endgame longer than gridfill situation.

No, scented harold, it won't take you more than a few minutes ... but doing what the adviser requires and the last three words of the first sentence in the preamble seem to be in conflict.

I feared it would be, SH, as Ares' last puzzle (the bee one) involved a grid fill: grid stare ratio of about 1:8 with a generous helping of GWIT thrown in. Fortunately a Google search for the key words from the message along with a suitable name should bring up what you need. I thought this was rather fun!

Cockie, I thought that too. It depends which wording of the advice you use (there are several versions). One has a "but" in it and I think that's what's intended.

I now have the relevant quote, but I agree that if we only use 10 cells as per the preamble we seem to only be complying with half the quote?

The more modern versions are secular, and leave out the recipient, if you see what I mean.

Now found another version that makes a bit more sense, but now confused as to whether we should submit what I first thought or the negative of it. Will continue to ponder.

Looks like you've pretty much got it, SH.

But do we interpret the 'l' word as its 1st definition in Chambers or its 6th? I initially thought its 6th, but now I'm wondering.
