This thread is aimed at those needing a little extra help. If you're struggling (really struggling!) with a Listener clue, please post your request here.

Help with the theme may also feature. 'Help' doesn't mean detailing exactly what's involved, what's to be done - it's a case of providing more generous help than can be found on the other thread. Yes, 'more generous' is rather vague, but Forum members seem capable of getting the balance right.

The answers and hints seen here should be in response to requests for help. Unsolicited answers and pointers to the theme will be removed.

NB If you would rather not see any answers at all, simply give this thread a wide berth!

Cockie (from other thread), I think 19 is a verb for to silence someone in a poetic word for evening (when the sun declines, I suppose). There may be better explanations!

Thanks, loge. I'm sure that's right.

All finished but I'm unhappy about the parsing of 24a. Can someone explain please.

CS75 -letters 1, 5 and 6 = hole. letters 2,3 and 4 (reversed/in recession) = small. The answer is a two-bit.... (with the correction in the last word).

And there’s an oblique IT reference in this puzzle! Gotta wonder if the setters have read this forum and are doing it deliberately 😉

Thanks Malone. I was taking letters 2,3 and 4 reversed as meaning two-bit (which it doesn't of course).

loge - if they are they are time travellers. There's usually a queue of more months than you can shake a stick at. Over a year, I understand, at the moment.

My last one to parse is 32ac. I have the answer as only one word fits. Thanks for any help.

unclued: add the first two letters of the clue into the interior of your answer and all will become clear.

27D is the only one left for me to parse - any hints?
