For my answer to 5a I have to make CAP equate to "blow" which doesn't seem right, but I can't see what else it could be?

Drxx, yes, I'm pretty sure I have 10 across right but as CD mentioned it too I'll have another look.

I too was convinced for ages that Brendan's expression in 5a was the right answer - it fitted the definition (even down to Chambers using the exact word), but I couldn't see the wordplay.

If that was a deliberate red herring then it was very clever.

I have the instruction, but missing a few letters from it, but I cannot get anywhere in the NW quadrant. Also I would dearly like a nudge with the parsing of 36a and 38a. Additionally, as yet, I only have 4 clashes and 5 of the extra words with only 13 clues to solve, 5 of which contribute to the instruction - so I am a little concerned about what I have thus far entered - even though 3 (clashes) + 5 (words) + 5 (letters) does equal 13.

36 loses a letter to give a single letter abbrev for weight which supplants the beginning of the second (3 letter) Morse element.
38 - in the clue (fictional).
