It boggles the mind imagining the level of planning that went into this masterpiece:-)

Having been away travelling till yesterday when I returned to my copy of the Times, it would seem somewhat 'after the event' to comment on this puzzle...but I feel I must congratulate Shark on a brilliant grid construction...

Finally finished, what an absolutely superb puzzle. Incredible grid construction, fascinating theme, a proper challenge without ever feeling like it was going to be impossible, no frustrating grid stare at the end.

I think Shark is probably my favourite setter and this is up there with his / her best. Just brilliant.

Have a couple of parsing loose ends that I'll stick on the other thread.
