I may have been delayed in arriving there as I spotted 4/5 of the authors surname in the grid and thought that must be involved.

Well, after giving myself a day off I've just come back to this puzzle 0 but still can't work out the name.
Does it involve doing something with the 4 letter diagonal word? And is the name thematically treated?
