17: defn is weak, "solver's heuristic"*. Would have been better as "setter's device", but I really wanted to drop an aitch.

*I have a mental checklist for non-obvious clues: Could it be a hidden? Based on rhyming slang? Etc.

Hi jono, it's intended as a part &lit (angry being superfluous to a full &lit). Conclusions being endings so sounding the same at the end (heard) but not necessarily written so (not seen).

Jon;
“Bow” as in the heart of East London, “Street” as a “cool” synonym for “Street Talk” i.e. Cockney rhyming slang.
Whole clue meant to deflect attention to the famous road.
