Thank you to everyone, who pointed out my mistakes. Once I got 22ac, things started to make more sense. I also corrected my mistake for 16d. I'm not convinced of my answer for 19d. I've never heard of that fruit. I wasted hours looking for the 14ac writer with an E at the end!

Scandi noir now.

I have been doing Guardian crosswords for nearly 50 years. This, for me, was far and away the worst I have ever seen.

Back again to say my FOI was 9ac, my LOI is 14ac (in fact I've given up on it, I can't face trying to google it again). COIs; 9ac of course, closely followed by 12ac and 15d. There were several I hated as well and some that made me feel very stupid I didn't get them sooner.

Great puzzle, thanks to setter. However, once again my only gap is a clue no-one else has seemed to struggle with, so once again I'm missing something obvious.
It's 1d. Bit bit absolutely convinced I have right answer for 11a. I think it begins with N? But any gentle prompts for 1a?

1d is actually a triple definition, one of which is for younger solvers!

I must make a belated apology for misreading a half-screen on my small tablet, in my post@36, I meant to say this wonderful crossword was 9-like. Thanks all for being too polite to point out that 11-like didn't make sense. COD 9a of course!

First one in 9a COD! followed by 1d although I'm not a younger solver Chris!
I was going really well until I reached the other side of the crossword. It became hard going with too many obscure ( to me ) names.
I did manage to finish with the help of google.
