I suppose this is discussion rather than a request for help, but the highlighting seems to relate to 3 instances of second word of verse plus hero's role; how is the repeat justified?

If you find the full text, there's a six-letter word in the verse before the hero's role which justifies the repeat.

I’m getting a bit fed up with grid staring. For Traditional Verse do I think Nursery Rhyme?

1: Where on earth does one start to find "a traditional verse"?
2: I have detected a "decreasing" thing going on...is this a fluke or intentional?

I found it very useful to write out my 15 superfluous words in a list. When read in a certain way (a way strongly indicated by the verse), in clue order, their initial letters spelled a name. This name is not STDL RDSPSNPSRTT. That would be ridiculous.

After being beaten the last couple of weeks I'm delighted to finish one on a Saturday. Gentler cluing and the theme appeared quite quickly when I wrote out the extra words. Very enjoyable!

thank you for the nudge, I get it now. (It didn't help having 21 extra words removed... "D-oh" indeed!)

I have highlighted a cryptic representation of a very well known phrase in the grid. I can trace this to a specific author and publication.
I have not found that precise phrase in a traditional verse though. There are similar words in a verse of a well known song (plus others not in the grid). They do not work as neatly.
Have I missed a song or poem with a verse that works?
No need to share a link or any spoilers. Just let me know if I need to keep looking.
