This thread is aimed at those needing a little extra help. If you're struggling (really struggling!) with a Listener clue, please post your request here.

Slightly more generous hints to the theme may also be given here. It is of course, tricky to define 'slightly more generous' but I feel it's worthwhile to try to get the balance right.

* Answers... to individual clues ratherr than a shopping list of half a dozen or so. And this is not a place for lists of answers to be posted gratuitously, any such will be removed.

The site admininistrators have permitted Listener to have two threads, in effort to accommodate as many Forum members as possible. It's a privilege worth holding on to!

Grid is filled, not absolutely certain about the 15 extras, and no idea how to find the traditional verse. I presume we’ve got to do something with the initial letters of the extras?

That's good, Dylan. I was trying to come up with something that could still be classed as a hint, not give everything away!

I rather enjoyed this and, unusually for me, saw the endgame pretty quickly, though I was initially baffled as to what "moth-eaten" was doing in 4d - still not totally convinced it means archaic but I do get it 😀

I think I have the correct fifteen extra words which all begin with consonants, with twice as many in downs as in across. Guess I have to stare at the grid now.

Rickeye - I'd carry on focusing on the extra words if I was you. I suspect that will likely bring you joy quicker than trying to spot the theme from the grid. I couldn't see it for 10 minutes (partly cos I had 2 extra words wrong) but then spotted it.

Thanks sh I have found a word occurring thrice in the grid, the format of which brings a phrase to mind.

Those words have helped with the fifteen extractions. Thanks again sh
