I seemed to be doing okay with this one until I tried to solve Z. I had O (76) x d (630) which gives 47,880. This does not comply with the preamble, so must be wrong. I must therefore have made an earlier mistake with O or d, or both. Would somebody be kind enough to confirm which I have got wrong.

Your O is correct, but your d does not equate to K times a square. Are you sure about your value for K ?

Just as a little extra clue, the square in this case is also a fourth power. Good luck.

I have found the values of all the letters - how do fill in the grid?

If you look at all of the across clues, you will see that there must be exactly two per line. Using this, and remembering the alternating pattern of even and odd, plus the 180 degree symmetry, you should get it with perhaps a little trial and error.

Beulah, there are few previous posts on this. You need to treat the grid like a normal crossword, the clues in the left-hand column are the across clues, with two solutions per row.
To give you a startl, the top row starts with answer A (beginning in 2nd column), answer B, starts at 7th column. You will see the starts of the answers to clues R, T, U and V, from those, clues Q and S start at heads of first and fifth columns.

Sorry, I meant R, S, U and V. Answer to T starts at head of sixth column.
