I'm glad the jeans information was of use. I wanted to remind you to keep in with Ivan Napple - with all the shortages of fruit pickers and delivery drivers, having your own personal fruit supplier is something to be treasured.

ChrisE, the 72 hour deodorant was very interesting. I noticed today that my Persil laundry liquid says ' Freshness that lasts 7 days'. I don't think I possess a single item of clothing that I'd wear for seven days.

No I dont think I would wear anything for 7 consecutive days either, but I might wear something and put it on again within the 7 day period. Perhaps I should switch to Persil if they guarantee the 7 day freshness.

Yes I must ask Ivan tomorrow about his fruit and veg suppliers. I hope he has a good variety of produce.

Your posting reminded me about the "celebrity" who proudly claimed that he had not washed his hair or changed his socks for a year. I cant remember who it was.

Grunger,

That's a good point about putting an item of clothing away and wearing it again within the seven day period. I'm rather a messy person, so seldom finish the day with clean clothes!

I hadn’t been to the market for 18 months, so I was thrilled today to hear the familiar voice of Ivan Napple, the Cockney greengrocer, calling out his prices, though his tone was rather muffled by a large mask. I was impressed by his Covid measures, a clear one-way system, plenty of hand-gel, though “Track and Trace” was a piece of paper with a biro, and a list of names and numbers.

“I spray the pen after each customer” he said, but I preferred my own.

He had an excellent range of fruit & veg, and I asked how he managed that when other greengrocers were struggling to get supplies.

“It’s a question of supply and demand. I demand it and the wholesaler supplies it. I have been their best customer for years so they look after me.”

He then surprised me by spraying the fruit. “I sanitise every half-hour. Some of my old customers love handling the goods before they buy.”

I made my purchases and went home to give the items a thorough wash.

Jigjag,

Thanks for that - what fun to have Ivan and the market banter back! I was delighted to hear that Ivan is still doing well, he seems to have cornered the market when it comes to getting supplies of fruit and veg.

Very pleased you have been able to get to the market. I think you are wise to wash the fruit and veg. Not just Covid, but you never know what's in them!

Did you visit the cafe?

I didn't have time to visit the cafe, though I noticed it was open. It was so exciting to be out. I must call in during the week and see if there are any new rules to baffle customers.
