Yes, I think it was more difficult than yesterday's Prize crossword anyway.

Er, did anyone else have Sade as the novelist at 18a? Held me up for 20 minutes!

I saw that but since it had Everyman in the clue I thought that would be too devious.

weethinker, the novelist clue went the opposite way for me...I usually just write in today's answer for all 4-letter "novelist" clues, did so today and was certain it was correct, but then took 20 minutes to figure out how to parse the clue.

Hi Geeker, I was probably anticipating the Azed. That's my excuse!

Like others, I needed the forum's help with 17d and 25a as I hadn't heard of either.LOI 16d, a bit slow there. I had pin point for 1a which I thought was quite a good answer until I got 1d and had to rethink!

I have the answers from derinitions and crosses but the parsing of 7d. 6d and 18a have me stumped. Any hints please?

I am always interested on this forum to see how some people find difficulties where I see none and (much more often!) vice versa. Fascinating how the mind operates - or fails to !

7D: synonym of icy backwards in film leads
6D: homophone
18A: Everyman's = I'M
