Hi MPRS,

13a - 4 letter "liability" + a word in the clue both reversed/"to return" - definition is "experimental environment"

19a - Your answer is correct. In the UK "Dave" is the name of a 19a you might watch for entertainment.

Sorry Mystogre, please ignore my @19, I could have sworn you asked about about 25a - I must be hallucinating!

Thanks much, Brendan. I’m glad to see that it wasn’t just me who found this one difficult. Like you, I got off to a smooth start, and then hit the wall. It was a nice challenge though.

Hi all,
For 21d I believe I have the answer ("some singers") but I'm struggling with the homophone ("some paper"). I suspect it may be accent-dependent -- any hints?

Thanks!

No, pretty much the same pronunciation, pfalloon.

Trivia of the week - the colour is named after the flowers in 16d, not vice versa. The name refers to the edges of the petals.

I must have been in tune with Everyman today as I got the majority of the across clues on first pass working in order, which included those I see mentioned already 19a, 25a and 24a (I didn’t flinch at the replacement).
Didn’t know that definition of 4d nor the programmer but both made perfect sense from the wordplay.
6d has two acceptable pronunciations so may raise an eyebrow or two.
Oddly 20d was my LOI. COD 16d.

Hmm. Tricky. Started well. FOI 5a. LOI could be any one of several because I am not convinced that I have them right. 16d 17d 21d are uncertain. COD for me is 6d. Although 19a made me smile. 1d was good as well. I'll keep returning to the forum to look for insights on my doubtful answers. Thanks to all for the comments. Have a good day.

Much more of GB bias this week I thought -- snooker and cricket, Dave (!), a taste of the Raj in 16D, investitures, not to mention the three literary references and the programmer. Everyman's clearly fed up with all of the transatlantic solvers finishing the puzzle by midnight 15 UK time!
COD: 17D simply because I'm proud of myself for dredging it up from the depths of my memory!

I found this not too bad, though as I don’t have the app I can’t check whether I’ve got it all right.
I struggled with 17d, finally convincing myself that it was ‘coverage’ - as something a TV programmer might want, and perhaps a piece of clothing material would give coverage to the body, but after reading the comments on here I’ve got the right answer now I think.
COD was 12, reminded me of one of my favourite childhood authors and raised a smile.
Thanks all for your comments and hints every week on both the Everyman and the Saturday prize - I always read, but usually don’t start early enough in the day to be able to post anything relevant

Thanks for confirming @ChrisE.

Got it now -- it's a straightforward spelling, but not a word I've encountered before...
