Totally bemused. My regular app only has the Quick crossword today. Brendan sent me a link which opened it up ok in a different looking part of the app. Three quarters complete and all my answers are wiped clear. Think I'm going to have to concede defeat but don't understand why I seem to be the only person having issues.

My only comment would be a few too many anagrams for my liking.

I found this straightforward once I got started and worked out the theme and 4 25 although I had to use a solver (just once, improving) for 7D, a word I wasn't familiar with.

I'm unable to parse Brendan's COD 21D.

1D was my COD I think, a word I knew from playing the Paranoia tabletop RPG way back in the past :)

21d is 1 letter for Romeo inside a 5 letter animal

Ah ok. Several ways to attempt to parse that one, and I think I assumed horny was thorny (and parsing it that way didn't work either).

I'm also unable to parse 23A, maybe I have wrong answer, I have a type of plum (plural).

I also liked the clue for 5D.

23a is a type of plum (plural). It parses 1, 2-7
5d is 4 letter flower followed by 4 letter anagram. Defn is a hint at an ongoing Brexit issue ;-)

Yeah I got 5D, I was just saying it was a good clue :)

Not really. It's a different kind to 22D though...

The lower half went in without much difficulty, but cracking the top half was frustrating. LOI 3d. I can't quite parse 12ac or 3d, but the grid is now complete. Thanks to Philistine, and to everyone for their posts.
