K is quite common over here, usually in relation to salaries.
"What do you make a month?"
"Only 20K" (!)

History was my worst subject at school probably because I had a horrible teacher!
I have watched and enjoyed Bridgerton though.

More difficult than usual, but definitely solvable with the help here.

The "parliament" clue made me smile.

No prizes for guessing which two I got stuck on! 16d and 24a. Embarrassingly, even with the forum's help, I couldn't get 16d and had to resort to the crossword solver; well done to all those who got it without help. And I think therefore my PDM for 24a proves to be right - probably slang I'm not familiar with. COD 27a - made me smile - I got the right Charlotte!

Belated (PDT Zone) thank you to Femmenoire and RichardK which exposed another (apparently popular) error I had made. Loved 16d when I finally got there. I'd forgotten that wonderful collective.

A very mixed one today, started at a run then slowed to a dead stop, only battled through with lots of your help. FOI 1a, LOI 20a, COD 16d.
As a republican in the UK, I'm proud to say I had no idea who Charlotte is or was and it was only as the hints on here got more explicit that I remembered the child.
A couple of nit-picks, mostly to see if extending the formatting code system works:
11a is not the same as 'denies', it requires a proof not merely a statement (the answer is often used incorrectly by interviewees to challenge a claim, without offering the proof to justify use of this word)

I agree with the comment about 7d, k is the number not the amount of cash (unless it is implied that you are talking money)
Apologies if this ends up with a mess of formatting, but I thought worth a try after our discoveries last week

Ah, so it's only some formatting that works

I can't figure out anything that would fit the crossing words for 7d. Is it a Britishism or do I have something wrong somewhere else?

Yes, it really annoys me when (politicians, usually) say 11a rather than "deny" or "reject". (I mentioned this earlier.)

Hi Lexo,

I don't think it's a British term. Google says it's derived from H?? Racking in the Navy, where sailors would share each others bunks - at different times presumable 😉😉

This is the office version of that.

The clue is anagram of K + two words in the clue.
