19a ‘new’ is a single letter in the middle of the word and the rest is a word for ‘bum’ as in bottom

Hi all - bit stuck on a few…. Any hints on the following would be grand: 10, 11ac, or 7d. Got all the bottom clues, but finding top half a bit trickier! And can’t workout the parsing of 2d. Thanks again for this ever helpful forum!

10 read the answer backwards. The poet makes up the first 5 letters - he's one of the better known ones!

11 "agree" as in "match". Put a 3 letter word for "tease" inside.

7d you need to solve 10 first! It's something you hang up, rather than a "hang-up".

2d the last 4 letters read upwards are, surprisingly, an island.

For the first time in ages this will be a dnf. As a mathematician, my knowledge of poets is x-3 when x=5. The two I know being Tennyson and Wordsworth.

I'm stuck in the NE corner...

Thanks Chrise….. have now finished but didn’t enjoy this one, started well but thought some of the clues in the top half a bit weird - and not good weird! But each to their own, hoping Everyman will cheer me up tomorrow!! Have a nice Saturday all despite the wind and rain in the UK.

Enjoyed this more than I thought I would with a limited knowledge of poets. FOI 23. COD is a toss up between 9 10 or 14. I think I have 16 correct looking at the comments on here, but can’t parse it, particularly last four letters

16a - 3 letter "writer" + 5 letter "direction" - definition is "contribution to discussion" as in 'he had to have his two ............'.
