Morning all. Enjoyed that.
Agree with many comments & CODs but, for misdirection, I liked 9A where I mistakenly took "Change" to indicate an anagram.

Initially thought my ignorance of US press secs would hinder me, but not so - mainly thanks to this fantastic send-up of Sean S:

Hi all. Lovely Sunday pleaser after the trials and tribulations of yesterday's tough prize. Good to see the rhyming clues returning this week and 11d making an appearence on consecutive days. Thanks Everyman.

I've managed to finish without calling on outside help and enjoyed it.
Yesterday's prize remains unfinished as yet.

1d and 8d went in very early so I suspected a theme!

Not sure of the parsing for 25a but suspect the word I thought was an anagrind is the definition (with perhaps).

I had never heard of the band in 26a although I'm sure my answer is correct. Will work out the parsing later.

Lots of good clues but my favourite is probably 22a due to the PDM.

The band were my daughter's favourite, rossim, and (surprisingly for the father of a teenager - at the time) I quite liked them too.

I did my usual lockdown routine of completing most of the crossword, then going for a long walk by the river, before completing.

6d was my tricky one this week. I got the first half quickly, but had three goes at the second half before I got the right answer. Even now I'm not sure on the parsing of the second part?

Like Warden I cannot make sense of the parsing of the second word of 6d. Can someone help me? Otherwise I found it all a little bit easier than usual.

6d the old and cross are single letters while the direction (unusually perhaps) is a five letter word. ‘Do’ from the clue is reversed

The direction is a compass, point, then "do" up, then Old Cross

Doh !!! Saw the parsing of 6d about 5 seconds after pressing the send key. The mind plays strange tricks !
