Cosmo123. I don't often get to help so I'll give it a go. Two 3 letter words. First to josh, jest, tease. Second to yearn with similar but fewer letters, reversed.

8d a three letter word for pretend, followed by a three letter word for appetite reversed (mounting in a down clue). Offal is the definition

8d: the first three letters are for pretend and the next three letters are for appetite, going up. Definition is offal or part of meat.

Straightforward except for 19d and 27a, where the wordplay makes the answers obvious, but "who he" in each case.
Favourite 18a.

Not that easy! Favourite would be 26a Don't really understand 14d 19d was a new name also 27a 22a took me a while a good work out.

14d take "who's beginning" away from "wordiest", then anagram it. an attempted &lit, i think.

A nice middle-range puzzle in my book, A few straightforward ones that leapt at me (3D FOI) and a few head scratchers that prevented me completing while changing the clocks last night. (8D LOI). 22a was a smile, as was 23D (our daughter-in-law is from the Mexican version). The excess of baked goods in 12A and 15A has got me obsessing on café life, 15a COD by a narrow margin.
