I was in a pickle with this one for ages then made some progress after reading opinions and hints here. It is surprising how knowing that another solver found a clue to be witty or clever (thanks Brendan) can help someone else solve it! Odd that others are finding it easy - I certainly am not...

Looking for hints for 13 (types as in varieties?) and 21a please to help solve sw corner. Also 26a.

Glad to learn I'm not the only one who has found this tricky. That said when I have solved each one it's quite satisfying because of the effort involved and I quite like the obscure definitions, like in 21a and 23a.

First in was 15a, and last will be 26a and 22d which I'm still stuck on in anyone wants to help me out.

Annoyed I can't get 26 after it was Brendan's COD. Think mine is 18a. I like how the two word answer is split into 3 for the wordplay, and the definition is very appropriate for the state in which mine is left after every meal.

Hi FemmeNoire,

13d -Yes, types as in 'varieties' of 'classification' - 3 letters for "journalist" + 3 letters for "info" + 3 letters for "time".

26a - 4 letters for "dry" + 2 letters "American" - definition is "statesman who led a coup.
