I don't know if I have the right pegs, but it doesn't sound anything like the version I knew as a child, and I cannot find any matching example on the internet. With so many variations of the lyrics and so many variations of the music I don't see how it's possible to be sure if one's solution is 'correct'.

A nice red herring, intentional or not: the four-letter unclued entry and the one that follows it in the diagram could together lead the unwary into a very different circuit.

Yes Durban, I fell into that trap at first. However, I have now seen the light and completed the grid. Now for the pegs/notes!
