Thank you! I think I've got the geographical features anyway, but good to have the grid complete.

Notrab, my 3rd river (which might be wrong!) goes from the right side of the grid backwards towards the end of the 2nd river. Hope that helps.

Hello Barton

We have two rivers 8,8 but only the third (chronologically) overlaps with the range.

Wiki says that the second river was the Snake, which I can't pin down.

Thanks AbiCoop. I can see this river (4) and its geographical connection to the river M but I am still struggling to see any connection to L&C but I guess it is correct.

Hi Notrab,

If you look at the Wiki page on L&C and the C of D then Ctrl F the rivers and range, they are all there.

Thanks Brendan. I had seen this map but so far as I knew L&C had not actually travelled on the river O? I had been looking for more obvious rivers such as Snake at the western end of their journey. Nevertheless a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours to complete the crossword on a cold and frosty morning and, as usual, good to read all the entries and the help given. Just what we all need these days.

I confess I haven't read the article and know nothing about them, I just looked at the map and saw river O marked on!

notrab - O was the 'trial' the previous year, over-wintering before starting the main one...

Thanks crates. Always good to get an explanation to round things off satisfactorily.

I spent way too long looking for Snake. Finally found the last one, but my complaint is that the actual expedition didn't begin until they headed up the M. Before that was essentially preparation. At least that's the way we're taught in history class over here.
