Hi Chris,

10d - It's crafty because "mix up" isn't the anagram indicator - only "mix" then D from D(rambuie)

Thanks Brendan. I'm not a fan of the "drop of Drambuie" trick!

Hi Jono, hi Yevrah,

As you say Jono, interesting to see how different everyone's solving experience is - both yevrah and I found it it quite a bit harder than usual.

Morning everyone ,
After being a passive observer for quite a while I've finally decided to dip my toe in ! Enjoyed the Everyman as always . After a good deal of head scratching and lip smacking completed it in a quite reasonable time , A general query ... I've noticed many a reference to Chambers . What would you recommend ? The Crossword version or another edition ?
Cheers everyone and stay safe .

Hi Charlock,

Welcome to the Forum.

I use the Chambers Dictionary and Chambers Thesaurus phone app and got them both on Google Play for less than £10. The app has all sorts of great search feature such as anagram solving and word searches when you only have some of the letters - would make a lovely Christmas present :-)

Hey Brendan, I discovered an interesting feature in the Chambers App. If you shake your device it takes you to a completely random word. Why you would ever need this I don’t know but it’s kinda fun. You need to turn it on in settings ;)

Hi Jono,

I got a new phone this week as part of an "upgrade" and now the 'slide from the left' way of switching to the thesaurus has vanished - I have to touch the three dots in the top RHC and touch X-Ref - most annoying.

I don't think it has the shake feature either - at least I can't find it:-(

Smot The Stranglers might have chosen this flavour! (If you're old enough to remember one of their big hits in the 70s of course!
