Hi Lucy, yep I’m stuck in Tier 4 for Christmas as well.
The theme is cryptically described by 27d which I’m sure is placed there in the centre for that reason :)

I agree with ohcelt and chrise. I really can't be doing with this type of crossword. First one I've not started since July.

Well, can I just say that I think Maskarade's puzzles are superb. The whole point of the large grid is to keep you occupied during the long holiday period when there is not much else to do.

Perhaps I'm biased, having met Tom Johnston several years ago when I travelled down to London for the day.
