Enjoyed this v much. Got it all done and parsed with no q?s

It helped that I spotted the 14 to be shaded after thinking it was something to do with Ice-cold in Alex. (:o)

Slugabed, Ice-cold isn't the correct entry . If you have Chambers, plough through the 'ice..' stuff for a thematic entry.

It's not in my version of Chambers, 1972 edition, but I got it very quickly by looking for a word C?L? which roughly fitted the theme, then googled the longer word. I noticed AZED had used the word in 2015.
