Thanks Chrise for the explanation. Not totally convinced that idly is synonymous with unedifyingly though..

Me neither, IanSW, but I suppose they are vaguely related.

Good to see others engaged so late in the day. Re 15a, it was covered earlier but think opposite of baddies

Hi, all. Didn’t start this one till late yesterday - fairly easy overall though I agree with some of the grumbles.
Thanks, Buddy, for explaining 15A. I had the correct answer but missed the Bill Oddie/TBT allusion.
COD - either 11D or 9A. Each raised a smile.
Thanks, everybody - enjoy the chat.

Olderwoman, if you're there.

6a Definition is bar.
Reverse your answer and all should be revealed!

Good Morning folks,
Enjoyed reading the forum. Don't usually look in until I've virtually finished. Been looking at the times of the first posts, don't some of you sleep or are you antipodean or something? We get our copy after a stroll to the paper shop...yeah I know it's online but there's notthing like the texture of the actual paper. Having said all that, I Iiked the comments about the reserve only about 4.5miles from the centre of Nairobi. It's not quite the same but if you've ever driven over the Snake Pass from Manchester, in the middle of the moors, miles from anywhere you pass a sign informing you you're in the City of Sheffield.
Re the comments on Spoonerisms, I like them, they're fun. I once went into the library and asked if they had a copy of Mist Over Pendle. The 3 lasses behind the counter couldn't stop laughing. Stay safe folks.
