We're a broad church on here and it's good that we've got a range of differing views - makes for more interesting and entertaining discussions 😊

If any of you have done today’s cryptic intrigued to know what you make of 11a. I can’t decide if this a mistake by the setter or an intended non-cryptic definition, or (likely) if I’m missing something. Opinions seem divided in other blogs.
Nine is the most popular time for broadcasters (5)

Hi Jono,

It looks like Vulcan's had a senior moment but I have no idea how old he/she (or non-binary) is - but you know what I mean🤪

Ha! Yes I tend to agree Brendan, but even then it would have to be “Nine, for example...” don’t you think? Or better “Seven, for example...”
Plus you’d have thought Hugh would have picked it up.
Oh well, these things happen.

Just for note, the clue 11a in today’s cryptic (as discussed in the last couple of posts below) has been amended in the online version of the puzzle and is at least now mathematically correct

A lot of people on fifteensquared spent a lot of effort in trying to justify the original clue - some were almost convincing!
