I have a full grid, and have boldly inked in 26 across. Surely I have to be correct? However, I can parse only two of the "remaining clues" and am damned if I can justify the rest!

Did you check the first word in Chambers, granama1? I think the 2nd word changes to a general word for 'family'.

Drxx is clearly correct.

However the footballer Dani was an extremely tricky player, and was an exponent of the "nutmeg" - and both possibilities yield the desired "N". Of course he retired some time ago, and I had wondered at the obscurity of using the name. I now know why!
