You’ve confused me as I have the phrase as “11 in one’s 7“ so no 8,9 or 10 anywhere’s!

Hi Turast, I too completed last week's EV and I can see words in Flappy's completed grid which could suggest the same theme. More work needed.

Candledave, although 11,7 fits the theme, it would not give you the syllable required for the end game.

...........and as I have confused myself, and therefore no doubt others, the phrase is 9,8, and I'm giving up learning to count.

Ok, I’ll keep at it, still about a third of the grid to go.

Fortunately, the thematic elements in the grid have helped me backsolve a few of them!

Sorry folks. My previous message was sent to the wrong thread.

Well, I've searched for an alternative phrase, gitto and can only see one entry in Chambers '---- in the ----' (using the 2 obvious terms) and even this isn't in bold type. To get your 9,8 I've tried adding a Y to the last word but google isn't offering that version.
Can you be more specific (maybe on the other thread)? I take your point regarding the syllable but as I'd already decided the phrase wasn't entirely accurate it didn't bother me too much... until now!
This can't alter the grid or the endgame, of course - it's just for completeness.

Thank you Shark. Finally completed.
Well constructed.

However, you are not the Messiah, you are a very naughty boy! Having enjoyed your last (Optical Illusion), you then cunningly steered us to Artix, thus ruining my decorating plans! Shame on you sir.

I’m guessing Gitto is thinking of the two theme words with the shorter one pluralised? There is some support for that online and it renders the syllable accurately, but the four word phrase is much more common.

I don't know, loge - is there a final twist? The final image could work either way up.
The 'representations' seem to lead to one thing but could it be the 'action of...' ('to S??????') X in Y rather than X + Y individually that leads to the phrase? I'm thinking along the lines of another particular example but it doesn't work without its appendage (it's difficult to discuss it properly on this thread).
Anyway, from a simple endgame it's getting messy - what a pity!
