Hi Coffindodger,

18d - 7 letter word for "stance" with O(ld) replaced by/"succeeding" A(ce) - giving the definition "green area".

19d - 2 letters for "quiet" + 1 letter for "time" + 3 letter "love" + 1 letter "quietly" all reversed/"uplifting" - definition is "offering support".

18d: replace o with a.
19d: two letter synonym for quiet +t+three letter synonym for love+one letter sign for quietly, all going up.

Coffindodger I was stuck with 18d and 19d too. I had the answer to 18d but could not see how it was constructed, and 19d was still a complete mystery. Thanks Brendan and Mathi for enlightening us!
Another enjoyable Everyman, despite the dodgy homophone at 23a. [This might be a bit of a spoiler:] I guess in some parts of a sentence the not at all might be pronounced rather like the sister - I have been thinking up various sentences to decide whether or not this clue is fair.

I think I have completed it all but am unsure about 1A as it has given me S?C? for 2 down and I cannot find a word which makes sense there

Silly me, just realised my mistake and fixed it, all makes sense now. Thanks with your help with the other ones.
