This was a lot of fun although I did find it quite a bit trickier than usual.

There are still a couple I haven't fully parsed, namely 4d and 26a, but the answers are clear and hopefully I'll soon get a PDM (Penny Drop Moment).

My FOI (First One In) was 6a and that was quickly followed by the witty 5d.

COD (Clue Of the Day) - I've gone for 19a which did make me laugh.

Thanks to Everyman for a witty and enjoyable crossword.

Stay safe:-)

Ok, said PDM has duly arrived for 4d where I was thrown by the use of "straying" in addition to "oddly" - that just leaves the wordplay for 26a.

I'm also jammed on 26a but the keyword in 4d is "
oddly."

Hi Alzy,

You're right, but usually with these types of clue it just says "oddly" followed by the word in question, but in this instance it's followed by "straying".

Sometimes "numbers" can mean 'things that numb', but I don't think that's the case here.

I am badly stuck in the bottom. A hint or two on 24a or 26a would be very helpful.
