Hi roof,

Most definitely, just the right level of difficulty and lots of fun:-)

Rattled through this last night but came to a grinding halt around the same place as Roof. Went to bed thinking the subconscious would take care of it but no joy. I have four left but a hint for 14d would help. I'm just not seeing it.

It's actually 14d that I'm having trouble with.

Oh sorry! Then it’s a three letter acronym for a wartime prisoner followed by a reversal of a 6 letter word for a boat doing either of the things in 7 or 12, containing the first letter of redhead. Definition is ladies (in the lavatorial sense)

Beastly hotel is a rather cryptic definition of somewhere a certain household pet might stay. Inside of which there is an anagram of bar. And the definition is also rather cryptically something you need to get your car started
