In addition to OneLook, I can recommend this site:-

https://reversedictionary.org/

I find it invaluable whenever I get stuck.

I thought 6d was a particularly classy touch from Paul to remember the revered departed Reverend:-)

In post holiday mode tonight and really struggling to get a foothold in this. Also pleased to see the 6d tribute to my all time favourite. But with Paul I know I need to persevere because he is a slow burner. No idea of the theme yet so I suspect I will be back here.

I joined the forum today because I think this is the finest crossword of 35 years of doing the Guardian Prize. COD is 6D to whom it is a fitting tribute.

There's something about Paul puzzles that just don't click with me.

I couldn't get going on this all and gave up with nothing completed.

I've spent way too long on this today but have at least improved from my earlier post and have 8 undone rather than 8 done (with more help from Google/onelook than I'm happy with). May persist in the morning. Any hints for 4a would be great - that's my worst corner. Thanks and good night!
