I've solved about three quarters of the clues but I've got the film quote so am hoping that will make the remaining clues a bit easier.

Really enjoyed that. It took a while to get going but once the quote revealed itself the penny dropped. Last one to resolve was the NE clash.

Last one to parse properly was 1d.

I enjoyed it too! And didn't even look at forum till now. My last one in was 8d and not sure I fully understand that one.

Lumen, that one puzzled me too. I think the entry, with one more letter, would be a 'slab' (the 'behind shed' = lose the last letter).

...with the entry itself meeting the definition in the first four words of the clue (one letter being extra).

To '(ANSWER)' something is the American equivalent of 'put on ice' in the sense of not taking any action for the time being.
Which can be very confusing - or much worse - if you are doing business with US companies.
