Hi all, enjoyed today's puzzle, but still unable to fully parse 12a - I see the definition (can repeated here) and short time, any help?

and I can see girl in 17d, but not much else (aside from the definition)

12 needs splitting up 2,1,3,5 (can't be more helpful without spoiling)
I suppose the first 4 letters of 17d could be a flower or a girl?

12a "Short time" = MO + U (For all to see) + LIN(k) "brief relationship" + ROUGE

17d After IRIS it's an anagram of "has" around E (Code for Spain)

I was overcomplicating things with f(lin)g as 'brief relationship'

I have the answer to 24 down by default but struggle to see why! I’d be grateful for any help in understanding it.

The definition is "comedian" (I'm sure you know he's one of the Goodies) and is a 3 letter word for "funny" (as in peculiar) + the usual 2 letters for "that is"
