I would have enjoyed the puzzle more if the fill hadn't been so easy - then the time spent on the rest of it wouldn't have felt quite so long.
In the end I got across the line with some desperate googling (I don't like using anagram 'machines' and the one I used didn't offer anything - and it's in Chambers!).

Generally speaking I don’t like endgames that take way longer than the grid fill either, but this one really tickled me. Perhaps it was the feeling of “Gotcha, you b***ard” when all became clear at long last!

I uttered something similar to the last two of those.

I'm having difficulty with the symmetry. I have an I in column 2, N in 7, P in 5 and C in 6. Where have I made an error?

Hmm. We seem to have gone astray somewhere . Quick grid fill, instruction found, long word found in grid but, like others, we seem to have rogue letter at 25. More worryingly we only entered one clue answer as a jumble. Everything else seemed to fit together as is. Anybody else experience this?
