I think I know what you'd put for 6d and it may be right, at least that is/was part of a boat - I can't see what the definition is for my answer but it does fit the homophone/loudly aspect of the clue.

found the rhyming slang - not one i've heard. everyman's got it wrong though - the second word in rhyming slang is always omitted, so race shouldn't be there. it would have made it even more ambiguous, though!

just had another look at 22d after thinking had it wrong, still don't get it, assume it's hoohah with d's swapped giving doodah but think setter has confused doodah with doodad, doodad is a gadget doodah isn't?

Hi Andy,

Chambers gives both "doodah" and "doodad".

Completed all but 30a. I can pretty much figure the first word (I think), but struggling with the second.

Still can’t 100% parse 6d. First word ‘gloats’, whole answer ‘part of old boat’. I can’t see the rhyming slang or the reference to the second word though.
