Nope. All availability-based logic suggests that it should be the other way round. The fact that the IQ includes a note saying 'You can comment about individual puzzles after 10am on at fifteensquared.net' might have something to do with it, although I'd take some convincing that there are droves of EV solvers out there who don't know about 15squared.

I think a lot of people will buy a newspaper regardless of politics if they enjoy a certain crossword puzzle. Before lockdown I did just that but now I subscribe to Telegraph puzzles as a 'distancing' measure. When EV ends so will my subscription.

I agree with orson regarding the political leanings of 15squared, and I believe it's typical of online sites in general - and the people on them.

I do the EV every week but have not heard of 15squared. There will be thousands like me.

I only buy it for the EV and like you when that ends, so does my sub

xwordfan, I have TAYDASONERM - one (a W) short - for the missing letters and HRRSTREAEA for the misprint corrections.

Son1, I missed that W originally. I didn't fully peel the root vegetable.

I went for that vegetable at first, alwayspuzzled - but it isn't a root vegetable (I think we need the one ending in 't'). Either way, 'w' is omitted from the wordplay, as you say (I only mention it because it affects the endgame).

... sorry, it makes no difference to the endgame (I don't know what I was thinking of... again).

Quite right Drxx. I peeled only one end originally and should have read the clue more carefully. Perhaps I need to eat more of the one ending in T. On a different note I have just tried to find a general email address for Telegraph crosswords but their puzzle site gives only entry ones. They do need to be made aware of the strength of feeling there is about EV being discontinued. I know several people who like to tackle it even if they don't always finish it or submit it when/if they do.

I did the same thing, alwayspuzzled (but it was kind of Kruger to steer us away from a possible - 'w' in/out? situation).

I hope you manage to get through to Telegraph HQ and that they're prepared to reconsider EV's future.
Crosswords have always helped to sell newspapers, I hope there are enough fans of this one to justify its existence.
