I still can't get the one in column 3 or column 11, though I have all the crossers. Tiny nudge?

Nelson, for both of those, the hint/extra bit is on top of them...

Nelson, column 11 is a historical name and needs a bit of a scroll down in Wikipedia to confirm it. Hint: the two nearest in the grid start similarly.

Oh...so does column 3.

Ken, your suggested Y is correct. With a letter replacing the B, you will then have another place that works the same way as the unclued entries (where is the middle word/set of letters?). It's a bit anti-climactic!

Well thanks to Malone hinting at the altered letter in 17a I found this great fun. And I used to spend much of my summer holidays in one of the unclued so I reminisced too. Thank you.

Glad you enjoyed the puzzle and got a trip down memory lane too, jogamel. I thought the puzzle was fine, but the misprints bit was a little …. unexciting. I expect that was because many solvers probably had the unclued entries sorted before the misprints!
