I'm late coming to this one and really struggling to get a foot in the door. I don't understand what it means about five pairs of clues being swapped. Any enlightenment would be gratefully received.

Say 7A and 37A are paired. The answer to 7A goes into the grid at 37A and vice versa.

Thank you hotelwhiskey7. Are the pairs the same length or can this be different?

I’m finding this a slog to complete all the clues before progressing to the next stages. I’ve only found a few of the swapped clues so any hints would be appreciated. Also I think 20d is a swap with 17a but I have entry beginning with an L which doesn’t fit with what I think is the location.

Hi Numbskull,

You're right about 20d and 17a anf one does start with L - it's the first letter of the clues not the of the answers.

Numbskull, the entry at 20 D is from 17 A and does begin with L. The entry at 17 A , clued at 20 D, is just a 'hidden in the clue' answer (reversed).

Thank you brendan and malone. Using the first letters of the clues rather than the answers should get me back on track.

I made the same initial mistake as numbskull then found it easily on an anagram solver
