23 d I struggled I think it’s toilet humour

You could change the first letter of 23d to one other and have exactly the same meaning! (The parsing wouldn't work, though...)

Just got 23d. Funny. Am stuck on a few:

13a - Lousy fool about to show respect? On the contrary, (3-3) ?w? b?t
(I assume the second word is but)

19d: Isn't honest with banks (6) ?l???s 4th letter is either p or d?

24a: A German refused caffeinated concoction: 'This is not skinny' (3-5)

eludes me totally, and I'm sure my crossers are correct

I suspect that it's more a US expression.
